The simplicity of living your complex life

Life is what you make it right…

It’s a result of everything you have done and largely directed by everything you plan to do. Each and every event in your existence has unfolded to get you to this point in time, through the trials and tribulations to right here, at this moment, reading this post. It has been a journey I bet, one that you may be proud of, or not so proud of, yet are still alive and still searching. Searching for more. Willing to explore and wanting to expand.

I want you to pause for a brief moment and congratulate yourself for everything you have done and everything you have achieved to date. Then for a few more moments, I want you to forgive yourself for all the situations that didn’t quite go to plan. Make peace with these moments in the past. Take a big breath in and then on the out-breath release the attachments to these thoughts.

You can always repeat this process, at any point during your day, whenever you are feeling overwhelmed, solely as a simple reminder of everything you have done to get where you are. Even when you are feeling on top of the world this can guide you in the right direction.

So, our lives are complex, so utterly complex that no one else could ever truly understand what is going on inside us. Quite often we don’t even understand what is going on within us, which makes it even more difficult for someone else to understand. The rigmarole within us is built upon everything we have learned, every experience we have had, and influenced by all the people that have been in our lives for any duration of time. Our largest being family, who live just as complex lives as anyone else.

It can then be reassuring to know that for any almost any problem that exists in your life, there have been many before us who have faced similar circumstances and overcome these to live great lives. It just goes to show that we are not alone.

We are never alone when we are in touch with ourselves and we all have the ability to understand who we are if we really want to. We are all born with this innate ability to get to the depths of our being. This so-called perceived complexity of our lives is an external projection of our internal state. If our internal state is not understood then we cannot make sense of our external surroundings. In order to understand the world around us, we must first learn to understand the world that resides within us.

When we start to observe what goes on inside our mind, we start to see that our lives are only as complex as these perceptions we hold which are generally based on repetitive behaviors that form the theme of our lives. These themes occurring based on our conditioning. From this, we can then understand that we can find ease by simply doing the work to unwind the conditioning that has led to our false beliefs.

The simple act of observing your mind can incite deviations from what’s holding you back, it can shift the way you look at the world and in return change the way you act, thus forging a new platform for who you truly want to be.

The realization then dawns that the solution to the simplicity of our complex lives resides within us and it always will.
